Python Certification Preparation ‐ Exam Review

Lesson 03.02.01

Essential Question:

  • How do we prepare for the python fundamentals certification?

Learning Objectives:

  • Recall previously learned topics
  • Analyze context clues to derive to one answer
  • Hypothesize answers for unknown questions based on questioning

Standards:

  • NYS Next Generation Learning Standards RST.4.11-12 Determine the meaning of symbols, key terms, and other content-specific words and phrases as they are used in scientific or technical sources.
  • New York State Learning Standards CDOS 3a Students will demonstrate mastery of the foundation skills and competencies essential for success in the workplace.

Bridging Learning Gaps:

  • Resources are provided to scholars that covers all content from the python foundations unit
  • Scholars are grouped based on previous day's exam performance

Differentiation:

  • Study resources provided are in provided in various mediums

Extensions:

  • Scholars who complete the worksheet, will begin drafting their second blog post

Opening Task (30 Minutes)

  • Scholars will complete opening task on Schoology covering topics learned from python foundations unit
  • Randomly selected scholar will facilitate review with peers

Exam Review (40 Minutes)

  • Scholars will be split into 3 groups to review previous days mock exam.

    • Scholars are grouped based on performance in the exam yesterday, to ensure a mixture of students who got questions correct and incorrect
  • Scholars will identify questions they got incorrect or have questions about.

    • Then as a group will share and discuss to fill out a worksheet

Break (10 Minutes)

Exam Review Contd (20 Minutes)

Students will continue activity from before break and submit finalized worksheet on schoology

Independent Study (30 Minutes)

Scholars will choose methods to study that correlates with their learning style

Cleanup/Dismissal (10 Minutes)
