Materials:
- Clicker Games: CookieClicker + CityInc + PlanetClicker
Opening Task (20 Minutes)
- Scholars will complete opening task on Schoology covering topics learned from python foundations unit
- Randomly selected scholar will facilitate review with peers
Idle Game Dissection (20 Minutes)
- As a class we will dissect core aspects of idle/clicker style of games to explore common functionality
- What do the games all have in common?
- What is the core function of the games?
Break (10 Minutes)
Game Asset Design (30 Minutes)
Scholars will design assets for their clicker game, using digital tools like Canva
For your clicker-style game you will need to design the following aspects:
- Theme/Name (e.g. CookieClicker, CityInc, HeroClicker)
- Main Action Button (e.g. Cookie)
- 4 Levels of PowerUps (e.g. Cursor, Grandma, Farm, Mine)
- Overall Layout of the game itself
