Essential Question:

  • How can we apply design thinking to develop a user-centered web MVP that effectively addresses real needs?

Learning Objectives:

  • Apply design thinking methodology to identify user needs and define problem statements
  • Collaborate in teams to generate and prioritize web solution ideas
  • Organize project tasks using Kanban boards and agile principles

Materials:

Opening (05 Minutes)

Scholars will grab their laptops and login.

Instructor will re-introduce the workshop and the facilitator.

Worskhop

Workshop faciliated through Cambio Labs to assit with integration of Entrepreneurship into FSD curriculum.

Scholars will be forming teams to build a business that has a social impact, and then design websites to promote said business + create MVPs

Instructor + TA will assist facilitator where required. Taking Attendance, recording WBL, push-ins for technical explanations, etc.

Session 2: Introduction to Design Thinking & MVPs

Content of Workshop:

  • Team Formation

  • User Identification

  • Design Challenge: rapid How Might We Creation + Ideation

  • Introduction to Prototypes and MVP: Early Colutions Solutions

  • Project Management Tool for Team Collaboration: introducing the Kanban Board and Scrum/Agile practices

  • Challenge: Build your MVPs for Testing at the “Trade Show”, scheduled for May 1st, where they will be challenged to introduce and demo their website & MVP
