Essential Question:

  • How do we finalize our website design and content while exchanging constructive feedback?

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify areas of evaluation for unit project
  • Analyze peer's websites and provide constructive feedback to grow as a team
  • Iterate on design and content of custom website

Standards:

  • NYS Next Generation Learning Standards RST.4.11-12 Determine the meaning of symbols, key terms, and other content-specific words and phrases as they are used in scientific or technical sources.
  • New York State Learning Standards CDOS 3a Students will demonstrate mastery of the foundation skills and competencies essential for success in the workplace.
  • CompTIA IT Fundamentals 3.2 Compare and contrast components of an operating system.

Bridging Learning Gaps:

  • Resources are provided to scholars that covers previous day's content
  • Previous content is reviewed during opening task

Differentiation:

  • Various mediums of content is provided to scholars to use as learning resources

Extensions:

  • Scholars who have finished adding all planned content and pages to their website will work on adding more content and pages to their website

Opening Task (30 mins)

  • Scholars will complete opening task on Schoology covering topics learned from python foundations unit
  • Randomly selected scholar will facilitate review with peers

Rubric Review (15 mins)

  • Scholars will review the unit project rubric and discuss areas of evaluation, with a partner.
  • Scholars will post any questions to discussion board on schoology.
  • Scholars share out any questions to the class, and instructor will answer any questions.

Project Work Time (25 mins)

  • Scholars will work on their website to add more content and pages
  • Scholars will add styles to their website

Break (10 mins)

Feedback Exchange (20 mins)

Instructor will overview the feedback exchange process, ensuring feedback is heard and considered.

  • Scholars will provide feedback to their peer on their website, through a google form, using the rubric as a guide
  • Instructors + TAs will monitor feedback exchange process to ensure feedback is heard and considered

Project Work Time (20 mins)

  • Using feedback from their peers, scholars will iterate on their website
